Doumit to coach BBCC Vikings Baseball in 2012-13

Pete Doumit has accepted the position of head baseball coach at Big Bend Community College for the 2012-2013 season.

Doumit, inducted into the Washington State Baseball Coaches Hall of fame in 2006, has decades of coaching experience locally and in the Pacific Northwest.

He was coach at BBCC from 1980-82, head baseball coach at Moses Lake High School, and was an assistant coach at Washington State University, Linfield College and Lower Columbia College.

Doumit is already recruiting, and recently held a tryout that attracted more than 50 players from Washington and Oregon.

Doumit’s son, Ryan, currently plays catcher and designated hitter for the Minnesota Twins.
