CBC's Shannon Bland Joins Cal State East Bay Pioneer Hoops

HAYWARD, Calif. Junior Shannon Bland from Columbia Basin College has signed her national letter of intent to become a part of Cal State East Bay women's basketball. Bland and her CBC squad won the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Championship winning four games over four straight days, all by double-digit margins of victory.

"Shannon gives us more depth at the point guard position. She comes from a highly successful Junior College program and understands the commitment level necessary to exceed at the next level. She will be an important contributor to our program and we welcome her to the East Bay family," said Head Coach Suzy Barcomb.

In her lone season with CBC, Bland posted season averages of 6.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. She ranked among the top six players with 141 assists and 80 steals among all 32 NWAACC squads. Bland was named to the NWAACC All-Tournament First Team and is one of three different players named an all-tournament selection last season to join Cal State East Bay for the 2014-15 campaign.

Cal State East Bay will officially start its season on Friday, Nov. 14, against Saint Martin's as part of the Western Oregon DoubleTree by Hilton D2 Shootout. Please visit the team's schedule page for the full list of games.
