Green River Basketball set to rebound in 2017. Drake & McQuarn hired to lead programs

Green River College announced the addition of basketball coaches Godfrey Drake and Demetrius McQuarn to the athletic staff for the 2017-18 seasons to lead the men’s and women’s teams respectively.
Bringing both on board in time to participate in the NWAC signing period allows for the Gators the opportunity to build a successful culture from the onset of the coaches tenure.
Godfrey Drake departs his head coaching duties Eastside Prep HS in Kirkland after spending four years (2012-16) at Kentlake HS where he grew in his profession and his network with in the South Sound region.
Previously, Drake was an assistant coach (2008-12) at Green River under Tim Malroy after moving to Washington from Mississippi. Drake played college basketball at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Demetrius McQuarn hails from Portland, OR where he was an assistant coach for NAIA program Multnomah University last season under Tim Bieri. McQuarn got his first taste of head coaching in 2013-14 when he took on the position of Barlow HS in Gresham, OR.
He has been a basketball skill development trainer since his playing days at the University of British Columbia and finished his B.A in Communications from Portland State University.
