Tacoma Men's Basketball team visits Mary Bridge Children's Hospital

Tacoma, WA -- On Thursday, Athletic Director and Men’s Basketball Coach, Carl Howell, took Tacoma CC’s men’s basketball team to Tacoma's Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital to visit the children and hand out autographed mini-basketballs. “I just thought anything we could do to brighten the days of those children would be a positive event,” said Coach Howell.
The plan was to get the team out in the community to show that TCC athletics is not just about sports, but also about giving back to the community that supports them. “I ask that all teams do something for the community,” Coach Howell encouraged. It’s good to know that different departments in the college try to give back to this community that we are lucky to live, work, and attend school in.
After the trip, Coach Howell showed gratitude to his team by reflecting on the event that took place. He was very proud to see his guys spending time with children who are going through a rough time right now. “I thought it was a great, great experience,” expressed Coach Howell.
