TCC's Howell reaches 300 win milestone
Tacoma, WA -- Tacoma Community College Men’s Basketball Coach Carl Howell won his 300th game Saturday night when his Titans beat Pierce College 78-68. Howell who is the most winning active coach by percentage 300 – 93 ( 76.3% ) in the NWAACC reached the milestone in just over 13 years which makes him one of the fastest to ever reach 3oo in the Northwest. Howell joins a small number of Men’s Basketball Coaches to win 300 games in the Northwest.
Howell coached at TCC from 1993-2003 before becoming an assistant coach at Eastern Washington University from 2003-2007. Howell returned to TCC as the Athletic Director only for the 2007-08 year then resumed his Head Coaching duties in the 2008-09 season. Prior to this season Howell’s last 6 TCC teams posted a remarkable 165-26 ( 86.4% ) record, During that stretch his teams finished in the final 4 four times winning the NWAACC title in 2002. Last Season the Titans reached the final 4 and had a NWAACC best 25-4 record.

Currently Howell’s 4th ranked Titans are 3-0 in the NWAACC West Region and 10-2 overall.
