PORTLAND, Ore. - New head coach Jared Valentine launched his first recruiting campaign by announcing that Will Sharp from South Puget Sound Community College has signed to play basketball for Warner Pacific in 2011-12.

Sharp, a 6-0 guard from Lacey, Wash., was named 2nd Team All-Western Region for the Clippers as a sophomore. He averaged 14.48 points, 5.09 assists, 4.13 rebounds, and 2.26 steal per game in 2010-11.

As a prep, the North Thurston High School product was the Western Cascade League Player of the Year as a senior and was named Honorable Mention All-State at the 3A level in Washington.

"Will is a fierce competitor and playmaker," said coach Valentine. "He is a versatile guard that can handle the ball, find a teammate, and shoot from range. I am glad he will finish his education at WPC."

"Warner Pacific is a great school and I'm excited to be playing in a winning program," said Sharp. He will major in psychology.
