ABERDEEN, WA -- Grays Harbor College sophomore Darryl Jordan will attend Bluefield College in his home state of Virginia, suiting up with the men’s basketball team for the 2011-12 season. He will transfer in the Fall as a history major.
Jordan attended Churchland High School in Portsmouth, VA, leading his team to an 18-6 record and a berth in the regional playoffs. During his time at Grays Harbor, Darryl was “known throughout the NWAACC as a high flyer who played above the rim,” according to GHC Head Basketball Coach Tyler Gaston. Highlights of Jackson’s sophomore season with the Chokers included an average of 5 rebounds and more than 1 block per game with an 18-point effort against Centralia.
Coach Gaston also adds, “Due to his athleticism, Bluefield College is getting a player with tremendous raw potential.” Bluefield Head Coach Richard P. Morgan plans to use Jordan’s potential to create a breakout season and improve on the Rams’ 11-17 record posted in 2010-11.
Anticipating the addition of Jordan to the Rams lineup, Coach Morgan exclaims, “We are excited for his toughness and the grit he demonstrates every night. We are looking forward to him playing here and contributing early.
“It’s also wonderful to have a player from the great state of Virginia. He will fit in just fine,” Coach Morgan adds.
