SEASIDE, Calif. – Geoff McIntosh has committed to play with the Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team for the upcoming 2011-12 season, announced head coach Rob Bishop.
“Geoff will enable us to really stretch defenses out next year with his ability to knock down three's from long range,” Bishop said. “He is a taller shooter which will help him get his shot off even when closely guarded.”
McIntosh a 6-5, junior guard, prepped at Gig Harbor High School under the direction of his father and former head coach Lyle McIntosh. After a short stint at Northern Oklahoma, McIntosh played a major role in Tacoma Community College's 26-3 record last season.
“Geoff can really shoot the ball and he has a great basketball IQ,” said TCC head coach Carl Howell. “He played very well for us the 2nd half of the season once he got healthy.“
“Being the son of a well respected high school coach in Washington, Geoff brings an advanced understanding of the game of basketball to our program,” Bishop said. “He sees the floor like a point guard and will really improve our offensive production next year. I am very excited to be adding Geoff to our program and am looking forward to big things from him next season."
McIntosh joins Jalen Headspeth and Kevin Loustale in CSUMB's 2011-12 recruiting class.
