Tess Treinen, who attended Lane from 2004-06, graduated Saturday, December 10 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego, California. She was also awarded the Stanley V. Paris and Catherine Patla award for manual therapy excellence. The award is named after Dr. Paris, who is the founder of the University.
Tess' GPA throughout the program was an impressive 3.8, especially considering her other areas of service in the physical therapy community. She was involved with the San Diego Fall Prevention Awareness Program, tutored for 3 classes within the program, and was a teaching assistant for a Spinal Manipulation course.
During her time at Lane, Treinen graduated as a Fitness Technician from the Exercise & Movement Science program with a 3.5 GPA and played Basketball for Greg Sheley and The Lady Titans. She was part of Lane’s first NWAACC Championship Women’s Basketball team in 2006, as well as the 2005 runner-up team. Treinen earned NWAACC All-Academic honors during both Basketball seasons. She was also involved with the Young Women in Science Program which helps empower and mentor young women in the science field.
