Tacoma's Kevin Dancer commits to NCAA Div I for 2009-10 season
Tacoma, WA - Tacoma Community College (TCC) Men's Basketball player Kevin Dancer, a 6'5 sophomore from Pasadena, CA has given California St. Northridge a verbal commitment to accept a full athletic scholarship to attend in the fall of 2009. Dancer is TCC's leading scorer at 17.9ppg & 2nd leading rebounder at 9.6 for the 19-2 Titans.
He is the 2nd Titan to receive a full scholarship for next season, Toussaint Tyler signed during the early signing period with Central Washington University.
"My main reason for choosing CSUN was the ability to make an impact right away and to be close to all my family & friends. Also, I really like the coaching staff, I have gotten to know asst. coach Sprinkle very well. Now I just need to focus on academics and lead us to an NWAACC Championship." Said Dancer.
"I am very happy for Kevin and I really feel like Northridge is a great fit for him," said TCC Head Coach Carl Howell. "Coach Sprinkle and I have been close friends for years and he did a great job recruiting Kevin. They play very uptempo and Coach Braswell has always had his team near the top of the Big West conference. Kevin is definitely one of the better players I have coached here at TCC and I would expect great things from him at Northridge"
Dancer is the 17th player to continue on to a NCAA Division I school during Coach Howell's tenure.
