NWAACC Men's Player of the Week

#40 Shaquielle McKissic - Edmonds

In two huge games,  Shaq was next to unstoppable against some of the best the league has to offer. 31 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a win over No. 2 Peninsula, and 33 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals and 8 assists in a win over No. 6 Whatcom are monster numbers, something that McKissic has done all season long. McKissic is 2nd in the league in scoring with 23.13 points per game, and is 6th in rebounding with 9.53.

Nominator's comments: "Shaq put up huge numbers and showed great leadership in which he willed himself and his teammates to victory.  He has been having a sensational season but this is his best week yet."

"No brainer. Wins over Two ranked team. 64 points, 18reb 16assists, 11steals, ridiculous week."

NWAACC Men's Player of the Week - Honorable Mention

#1 Ricardo Maxwell  - Edmonds

Hardly a second fiddle to his teammate McKissic, Ricardo Maxwell's week was a huge one both for himself and for Edmonds. 27 points and eight assists vs No. 2 Peninsula and 31 points and seven assists against No. 6 Whatcom, two games that have asserted Edmonds at the top of the Northern Region and sent them to the No. 1 spot in the coaches poll.

Nominator's comments: "Battling the flu vs Whatcom, Ricardo refused to let us lose with one big shot after another and some huge defensive stops."

NWAACC Women's Player of the Week

#21 Kristen Schoenherr - Centralia

Guard Kristen Schoenherr had an impressive week, helping Centralia pick up a pair of victories. The Trailblazers has gone 7-1 in their last eight games, thanks to Schoenherr's 29 points and 11 boards against Tacoma, and 17 points, five rebounds, five steals and five assists verses Grays Harbor . The two victories stretched Centralia's start to region play to 5-0, building on a preseason in which they went 7-3.

Nominator's comments: "Kristen is a dynamic player who can make things happen on defense and offense. She also provides our team with a competitive spirit and positive attitude."
