Eugene, OR – Spokane cruised past Umpqua 88-68 to take the 2009 Dale J Bates tournament hosted by Lane Community College this weekend.
The bracket had been modified due to freezing rain Friday which forced officials to close the campus just after the opening match was completed. Treasure Valley, winners in Saturday’s game, could possibly have played in the championship game, but the team needed to return to Ontario Sunday so Umpqua took their place in the bracket pairings.
