Dave VeresMt. Hood Community College Outstanding pitcher for MHCC's baseball team, leading them to the NWAACC Tournament in 1985 and 1986, earning all-Southern Region honors both years. Was team MVP, all-NWAACC and all-NWAACC Tournament pitcher in 1986. Signed a professional contract immediately after his final NWAACC game. Spent eight seasons in the minor leagues before his debut with the Houston Astros in 1994. Has also played for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies and is currently with the St. Louis Cardinals. Established a Rockies club record with 31 saves in 1999. Played in the Little League World Series for Europe while his father was stationed in the military in the early 1980's. |
