Kenny Mayne played football at WVC earning first team all-NWAACC honors in 1977 and 1978. He was honorable mention All-American quarterback in 1978 and still holds NWAACC football records in career yards gained, pass attempts and pass completions.

Mayne went on to play at UNLV before signing the Seattle Seahawks in 1982. After a 12-year broadcasting career in Las Vegas and Tacoma, he joined ESPN in 1994 and currently serves as an anchor on Sportscenter.
