Jim Sollars was the second women's basketball coach at WVC, leading the Knights to the first three NWAACC championships in 1979-81. His record at Wenatchee Valley college was 151-25.
Sollars left Wenatchee Valley to be the women's head coach at Portland State University. After a successful stint at PSU, Sollars became the head women's coach at the University of Portland in 1986.
Sollars coached more than 900 games at Portland, and at the apex of his Pilots’ tenure took four consecutive teams to the NCAA tournament from 1994-97. Sollars, a five-time West Coast Conference coach of the year, had a 38-year career collegiate record of 565-512. |
