Paul Tikker started teaching and coaching at CCS in 1979. His first coaching assignment was as an assistant football coach. While in this capacity, Spokane won four NWAACC football titles.

Tikker worked as an assistant men's basketball coach from 1979 to 1985 and during this time the team won three NWAACC Eastern Region titles. Paul then served as Head Women's Basketball Coach for three years winning the NWAACC Eastern Region two years in a row.

In 1988, Tikker became the Head Men's Golf Coach a position he held for twenty years. His teams won numerous NWAACC Eastern Region titles and two conference championships. Then in 1991, Paul started the women's golf program and was head coach for eleven seasons. His women's teams won five NWAACC Championships and he was named NWAACC Coach of the Year eleven times.

Tikker's success was not limited to athletics as he was awarded the college's highest instructional award as Outstanding Faculty. Paul was elected into the CCS Hall of Fame in 2011.
