Played for the Helmsmen basketball team in 1977-78 before transferring to the University of Washington. As a Helmsman, he set single game school records for rebounds (29) and dunks (6). Was team captain for the Huskies in his senior season and was a teammate of current UW head coach Lorenzo Romar. Drafted in the seventh round by the NBA's Phoenix Suns in 1982. Earned his Masters Degree in Public Administration in 2003 from the University of Washington. He is currently the General Manager for Fisherman's Terminal, part of the Port of Seattle.
