The Cougars won the 1996 NWAACC championship cruising to a 12-0 region record and finishing at 50-9 overall. At the conference tournament, Clackamas swept Yakima Valley and Highline before beating Spokane twice to win their first ever title. Misti-Kae Filley was tourney MVP while Kathie Woods was NWAACC Coach of the Year.
