1947 Men's BasketballClark College The Penguins were the first champions of the WSJAC (Washington State Junior College Athletic Association) in 1947. From there, they represented the State of Washington in the Western States College Tournament held in Compton, California. Playing four games in two days (on March 4 and 6, 1947), they beat Branch Agricultural of Utah, lost to host Compton, then defeated Dixie College of Utah and Pasadena of California to place fourth. Jim Johnson scored 101 points and was the tournament MVP. Their WSJCAC record was 14-2 and their overall mark was 26-5. |
