Walla Walla Women's NWAACC Champions
Kennewick, WA -- The Walla Walla Warriors won their second NWAACC title 75-73 in front of a large noisy crowd full of Warrior and Yakima Valley fans. The first half was littered with lead changes and the two squads entered the locker rooms at the break with the scored knotted at 31 a piece. 

Walla Walla came out strong in the second half as Tournament MVP Katie Isham racked up 12 points the the first five minutes following the break. The Warriors mounted a 10 point lead before Yakima began a rally that got them back into the game with five minutes remaining.

The Yaks held the lead 72-70 with a minute remaining when Kayla Hutcheson sank a free throw to tie the contest for the seventh time. Jaimie Berghammer and Layne Tucker sealed the deal for the Warriors with a pair of trips to the charity stripe that netted four points and the win.

East Region MVP Kati Isham and Nancy Johnson both ripped the nets for 20 points. Isham also led the team in rebounds with 8 while Layne Tucker and Berghammer added another 7 boards a peice.

Anna Marchbanks led the scoring for the Yaks with 32 followed by Rosetta Adzasu's 22. Marchbanks was huge in the paint with her game high 14 boards and 3 steals.

Walla Walla ends their championship season with a 28-1 record while Yakima Valley is forced to settle for the runner-up trophy and a 24-6 record. Both squads had a share of the Eastern Region title to go along with their successful seasons.
