Clackamas' Dorman signs with Seattle Pacific University

April 20, 2010

Jeff Dorman

Oregon City, OR -- Clackamas Cougar men’s basketball star Jeff Dorman has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Seattle Pacific University. The athletic/academic scholarship will amout to a full ride for his educational expenses.

Dorman is a 6-2 guard who led CCC to consecutive Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) championships. He averaged 19.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists as a sophomore at Clackamas. Dorman was named to the NWAACC all-tournament team, the Southern Region all-star squad, and the NWAACC all academic team. He was also named to the Region all star team his freshman season at CCC.

Dorman prepped at Prairie High School in Vancouver, WA. He was voted the MVP of the Greater Saint Helens League as a senior after averaging 13.1 points and 4.9 assists to lead Prairie to its fourth straight Class 4A state tournament berth.

“We like Jeff’s toughness and understanding of the game,” SPU Head Coach Ryan Looney said. “He gives us some experience on the perimeter and one more shooter on our roster. Jeff will be a great fit with what we already have on our team.”

Clackamas Head Coach Clif Wegner added, “We are thrilled for him; he has worked really hard to achieve this and been a great anchor in or program for two years. We think he will go on to another great career there as well. He’s tough, smart, and a winner; he can score the ball a lot of different ways and can fit into a lot of styles. We thought he was the best all around guard we saw in the NWAACC all season long and that’s saying something because the NWAACC always has a lot of great guards.
