NNU Men's Basketball signs Tacoma's Darious Walker

NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball coach Tim Hills has announced that Darious Walker has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to attend NNU and play basketball for the Crusaders next fall.

Walker (F, 6-5, 215, Federal Way, WA/Decatur HS), a NWAACC West Region first-team all-conference selection this season at Tacoma Community College, averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and shot 60-percent from the field as his TCC team finished third in the NWAACC Championships with an overall record of 25-4.  Over the course of his career at Tacoma CC, Darious helped lead his team to a 51-9 overall record.

"We are really excited to be adding Darious to our front line next season," commented NNU associate head coach Brandon Rinta.  "He comes from one of the most successful junior college programs in the Northwest in Tacoma Community College.  They do a great job of instilling a tough defensive mindset and that is what Darious will be able to bring to the table immediately next season."

A graduate of Decatur High School in Federal Way, Wash., Darious was a three-time South Puget Sound League all-conference selection as Decatur High made three-straight Washington state tournament appearances.  Walker averaged 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior.
