Gator's Christian Scholl Drafted in 8th Round of MLB Draft
Christian SchollGator pitching ace Christian Scholl was selected this morning in the eighth round of the Major League Baseball 2008 draft by the Los Angeles Angels. In two seasons at Green River, the 5’11, 195 lb flame thrower set the school’s single season strikeout record in 2007 with 81 K’s and then broke his record this year with 85. A two time first team All-NWAACC West Region selection, Scholl had earlier in the season signed an NCAA letter of intent to play at Washington State University.

The Tacoma, WA (Stadium HS) native was the highest NWAACC player picked in this years draft as the 259th pick and was the fourth player from the state of Washington. A career 2.57 ERA, with 12 victories for Green River, Scholl frustrated opponents at the plate for two seasons giving up a meager .191 batting average when he was on the mound.
