NWAC HEADLINES

Former Sasquatch make impact at Track & Field Nationals

Several for CC of Spokane athletes performed well in the recent NAIA and NCAA Division I track and field championships. At the NCAA Champiomnships, Mark Currel (Southern Utah) was 22nd in the 5000 meters. Elvie Williams (University of Idaho) was an All-American in the Long Jump with his fourth place leap of 25'7.5". Williams will be competing at the Olympics Trials in Eugene, OR later this summer. At the NAIA Championships, Deji Abedayo (Lindenwood University) was fifth in the long jump at 23'4". Curtis Parrish (Concordia University) was fourth in the 400 hurdles running 52.51. Both Abedayo and Parrish received All-American honors for their efforts.
