GRCC’s Willis Commits to Post University Men's Basketball
Devin Willis, All NWAACC-West Region Guard for Green River Community College, has signed an NCAA Division II scholarship letter of intent to attend Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut. “We are truly excited about Devin joining the Post University basketball program” said Post head coach Al Sokaitis. “Devin is versatile and brings a unique dimension in that he can play three different positions. His basketball IQ and determination make him a great fit at Post”.
Willis averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds and 1.5 steals a game for the Gators this past season, including a 23 point 10 rebound effort against Skagit Valley. “Devin’s stats don’t accurately reflect his value to the team,” said Green River head coach Tim Malroy. “An injury early in the season slowed him a bit, but he was playing his best basketball by the end. Devin is an outstanding student, athlete, and young man. I’m honored to have him represent our program in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.”
In addition to All Region honors, Willis earned Academic All-NWAACC honors and completed his Associate of Arts degree. Willis will join former Gator Jake Wilcox (’10) who was the starting point guard for Post last season as a Junior.
