Kevin Davis chosen to lead the Pierce College Raider baseball program

Kevin Davis has been selected as the new head coach for the Pierce College baseball program. Davis has been the head assistant and pitching coach for the Raiders for the past two years, helping lead the program to its first ever Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Baseball Championship this spring.

Davis takes over for Mike Nadeau, who, in his three years at Pierce, built the Raider baseball program into one of the top community college programs on the West Coast, winning two West Region titles (2011 and 2012),with a combined league record of 42-6.

“We are very excited to have Kevin as the new head coach of the Raiders. He brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to our program, and allows us to make a seamless transition with Mike’s departure,” said Duncan Stevenson, Pierce College athletic director.

A native of Renton, Davis played two years in the NWAACC, at Bellevue College and Big Bend Community College, and completed a successfulcollegiate career at South Carolina’s Lander University, where he also earned a bachelor’s degree in history. Davis signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves, and pitched in their minor league system for two years. Prior to coming to Pierce, Davis served as an assistant coach at Presbyterian College, a Division I program in South Carolina. He has also coached summer league ball for the Buzz 18U (2012) and in the Puget Sound Collegiate League (2011), and currently provides instruction at Big League Edge. “I’m excited about the opportunity to take over the program and continue the winning tradition that Mike has established at Pierce,” said Davis. “The program is well respected in our region, and I’m looking forward to continuing the work that we’ve started.”
