NWAC HEADLINES

Lane Track and Field Alum prevalent as athletes and coaches in NCAA ranks

Both Jordan McNamara and Cyrus Hostetler, former Lane Titans who now compete for the University of Oregon Ducks, qualified for Nationals in their respective events over the weekend.

Jordan competed for the Titans in 2007 and qualified in the 1500m.

Cyrus, who now holds the fourth longest javelin throw in NCAA history, was a Titan last season and qualified in this year's Javelin.

Lane Titan alums coaching in Division I
Former Lane CC Decathletes, now Division I coaches, found themselves coaching against each other at the NCAA West Regionals this past weekend in Eugene. Gabe LeMay class of 2002, now a volunteer assistant at the University of Oregon was coaching a high jumper in the same field against his former Lane teammate Josh Priester. Josh is the sprints, hurdles, jumps coach at U.C. Santa Barbara.

Then onto the women's discus where Cody Fleming (class of 2004), now the throws coach at University of Nevada- Reno, had an athlete throwing against Keith Baker's (class of 2003) thrower, who now coaches the throws at U.C. Santa Barbara.
