Brazzle leaves Cougar Basketball Staff

August 28, 2009
Larry Brazzle Jr.Oregon City, OR -- Larry Brazzle Jr. has accepted a coaching position at Montana State University Northern, in Havre, Montana. He joins MSN head coach Shawn Huse at the NAIA power in one of the top NAIA conferences in the country. Brazzle will serve as assistant men’s basketball coach while completing a two-year program and earning his master’s degree in counseling and administration. His educational expenses are covered, along with a monthly stipend.

Coach Huse has recruited the NWAACC extensively over the years and was very familiar with the Clackamas program, having signed former Cougar star Ervin Sims in 2006. For his part, Huse was enthused to hire an assistant who could recruit the NWAACC and the Portland metro area. Prior to joining the CCC staff, Brazzle had completed a stellar playing career, starring at Benson High School, Pepperdine University, and a number of professional stints.

CCC wishes coach Brazzle the best of luck and is very grateful to him for his help as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2009 NWAACC Champion Clackamas Cougars.

Said head coach Clif Wegner, “We will certainly miss him a lot. He was great with the players and fun to work with. He did a great job with our post players and our rebounders. His goal is to be a college head coach, so this should really be a very rewarding experience for him--an opportunity to coach in an outstanding program and get his master’s degree paid for. It should put him in a really good position to market himself to colleges. We are thrilled for him!”
