Spokane, WA -- The Spokane men and women won a pair of team championship trophies Tuesday to go along with their already loaded trophy case.
With 290 points, the men crushed the competition as they outdistanced runner-up Clackamas by 132 points.
Lane's Kevin Godfrey was the men's high scorer with 29 points.
The coaches selected Godfrey and Spokane's Anthony Brown as the men's Outstanding Track Athletes of the Meet. Clackamas' Kenny Echternkamp was selected as the men's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet.
Spokane coach Larry Beatty was named the men's Coach of the Year.
The women racked up 243 points, but only squeaked by Lane who tallied an impressive 235.5 points.
Lane's Sam Berryman was the women's high point scorer with 51 points.
Spokane's Chanel James claimed championships in four events was named women's Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet while teammate Anna George was selected as the Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet.
Lane coach Grady O'Connor was selected by the coaches as the women's Coach of the Year.
The titles represents Spokane women's seventh consecutive and the men's sixth straight. Spokane men have dominated the sport since the the program's inception in 1969, winning 30 of the 41 championships in which it has participated. The Sasquatch women have been nearly as impressive, winning 17 of the 31 championship the ladies have taken part in.
