Big Bend Volleyball aids breast cancer research

Big Bend Community College volleyball team raised $500 for The Side-Out Foundation during the 2011 season.  Together with middle school, high school and other college athletes, volleyball teams across the nation raised over $1.3 million for The Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink® initiatives that fund breast cancer research and patient support services.  

The Side-Out Foundation's Special Projects Coordinator Julie Matthews was quite enthusiastic about Big Bend's support, "You should be incredibly proud of your students. All of us at Side-Out certainly are!  Their efforts have made a difference for breast cancer patients and their families, and that is something to be truly grateful for."
