2008 Region 18 Wrestling Championships - February 9th
Clackamas to host the championships February 9th
Oregon City, Ore. - Clackamas Community College will be hosting the NJCAA Region 18 Wrestling Championships on Saturday, February 9th, starting at 10 am in Randall Hall Gymnasium. Junior College Teams from Arizona, Idaho, Oregon and Washington will take to the mats in an attempt to earn a birth to the NJCAA National Championships.
"This has to be one of the top regions in the nation," said Head Wrestling Coach Josh Rhoden. "Just look at the results from last year's tournament," he added.
Rhoden is referring to the top three teams in last year's Regional: North Idaho College, Southwest Oregon and Clackamas who placed 3rd, 6th and 5th at the National Championships, respectively.
This year's tournament promises to be every bit as good as previous regional championship based on the level of talent in the region. "This is a great opportunity for us (Region 18) to showcase our talent," said Rhoden.
