TYLER PARKER
SOPHOMORE • CENTER FIELDER
Tyler Parker, Liberty HS, Hillsboro, OR
Tyler slugged his way to player of the week with an impressive campaign at the plate. He mashed 6 extra base hits including 4 home runs and a triple while finishing the week going 9 for 16 (.563). The Sophomore outfielder finishes the season as Clackamas’ leading hitter at .301 with 9 home runs and 31 RBIs.
“Tyler is a treat in the middle of the line up with power to go deep at any time," said Cougar head coach Jim Hoppel. " he is a great center fielder with lots of speed to cover the whole field. It was always good to see Tyler at the plate and see what he was going to do, he is such a strong athlete and really dedicates himself to the game everyday”
NWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - May 16
Eli Herrick, Puyallup HS, Puyallup, WA
Herrick turned in an outstanding performance against 7th ranked Everett going 7 innings and allowing only one hit. He struck out 12 batters on his way to a 9-1 victory. Among the top pitchers in the NWAC with a 0.63 ERA, Eli has not started very many games but when he’s in, he’s effective.
“As we get down to crunch time, we had to move Eli from his relief role, which he excelled at last year, into the starting rotation," said Bulldog head coach Mark Yoshino. "A one-hitter with 12 strikeouts against a ranked team is pretty impressive considering he hasn't started since mid-March. Even though he has not been a starter, Eli's numbers have shown that he is one of the top pitchers in the NWAC.”
