NWAC & Under Armour Baseball Athletes of the Week - Week 2

Jacob Melton, South Medford HS, Medford, OR.
In 4 games, Melton had a .357 batting average, 5 runs, 5 hits, a triple and 2 home runs to go with 8 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. His slugging average was .929.
Melton is putting up staggering numbers this season. The freshman is currently 1st in triples (5), total bases (56) & slugging percentage (.929); 2nd in batting average (.357) & hits (31), 3rd in RBIs (24), 6th runs (23), , 9th in on base percentage (.494) and 11th stolen bases (9).
“Jacob continues to be a real competitive, clutch bat in the middle of our order as well as being a captain out in center field," said Roadrunner head coach Andy Peterson. "The progress he has made and work he has put in is unmatched. He is a real pleasure to watch play baseball.”
NWAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - APRIL 3
Zach Boswell, Snohomish HS, Snohomish, WA.
Boswell had a 7 inning 1-hit shutout complete game against Bellevue with 8 strikeouts this past week. He is currently 3-1 on the season with 2 complete games and 2 shutouts (both marks are tops in the league).
"Zach did a great job living on the edges with all pitches against an explosive offense," said Trojan head coach JoJo Howie. "We are very happy with how he is getting better and learning after each outing."
