NWAC & Under Armour Baseball Athletes of the Week - Week 3

SOPHOMORE • OUTFIELDER

Justin VanDeBrake, West Valley HS, Yakima, WA.

In 3 games last week VanDeBrake had 8 hits, 4 doubles, a home run, 7 RBIs, 6 runs and 3 stolen bases. His batting average was .667 and he had a slugging percentage of  1.250.

His season batting average of .356 is 18th in the league and his 26 RBIs ranks 4th.

"Justin is having a great year and is showing why he is one the best hitters in the NWAC," said Titan head coach Ryan Mummert. "He is currently leading the Conference in Hits and Doubles, as well as top 5 in many of the offensive categories. Justin is a catalyst for our team and a big part of our success this year. He is committed to Washington State University."

Seth Kuykendall, Gonzaga Prep HS, Spokane, WA.

Kuykendall tossed an 8 inning complete game win with 8 strikeouts. He has a season 2.60 ERA and is currently 1st in complete games (2) and shutouts (2) and second in wins (5).

"Seth has been as consistent as you can be this year!," exclaimed YVC head coach Kyle Krustangel. "He has given us a quality outing each time he touches the ball. Seth is a great example of process over outcome. He is coming off his second complete game shutout!"
