Day named 2019 Baden Baseball Athlete of the Year

Sophomore Dawson Day, Centennial HS / Gresham, OR., the South Region MVP, turned in a .358 batting average (7th best in NWAC). Along with two home runs, Day tallied 10 doubles in conference play. As a pitcher, he turned in a record of 4-2 as a starter including an impressive 104 strikeouts on the season (2nd in NWAC). His excellent control led to a league low 47 walks. His play on and off the mound helped Mt. Hood to a 32-12 record (19-5) and their 30th tournament appearance. Day is considering several Division I offers for next year.
