Chantelle Shimabukuro, Aiea HS, Waipahu, HI.

In 2 games last week, Shimabukuro turned in a .714 batting average with 5 hits, a double, a triple, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 5 runs. Her slugging percentage was whopping 2.000.

"I wasn’t at Edmonds last year but it’s easy to understand why Chantelle was an NFCA All-American as a freshman," said Triton head coach Chuck Stark. "I don’t think a day has gone by when Chantelle didn’t stay around after practice to take extra swings or ground balls. She’s a perfectionist, always working to get better. Her future school Western Washington is getting a great player and even better person."

Macey Sykes, Kalama HS, Kalama, WA.

Sykes turned in a 3 hit complete game shutout with 7 strikeouts. She is currently 10th in the NWAC with a 4.05 ERA and has a 4-0 record.

"We are extremely excited for Macey to receive this award," said Bulldog head coach Leah Francis. "Macey has been working hard to hone her pitching skills and pitching effectiveness and she is getting better each week.  She is starting to understand her strengths and learning to trust her pitches and it is paying off in her success on the ballfield.  I am confident that she will progress in her growth and continue to be a huge asset for us in the second half of the season!"
