NWAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - MAY 15
Lynsey Valverde, Bear River HS, North Harrisville, UT.
Sophomore short stop Lynsey Valverde turned in a big week at the plate for the Vikings in a weekend split with Wenatchee Valley. She crushed 3 home runs while racking up 8 RBIs on 5 of 9 hitting. Valverde leads 6th seed Big Bend in home runs, RBIs, hits and stolen bases and ranks among the top 10 in the NWAC for most hitting categories.
"For two years Lynsey has been an integral part of the success of Big Bend," said Vikings head coach Michael Garoutte. "This past weekend she just continued on that path. It was a fantastic way to celebrate her Sophomore Day with an excellent performance hitting as well as on the defensive side.
