Former assistant basketball coach at Seattle Central CC in 1977-78 helping the Seakings to a sixth place finish at the NWAACC Tournament. Began his coaching career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana before coming to Seattle Central. Went on to assistant jobs at Idaho, Oregon and Stanford before becoming head coach at this alma mater Butler University in Indiana. Spent 11 seasons at Butler with a record of 196-132 and three NCAA Tournament appearances. While at Bultler, Colier was named Midwestern Collegiate Conference (now Horizon League) Coach of the Year in 1991, 1997, 1999 and 2000. Collier Completed his coaching career at University of Nebraska (2001-2006) where he compiled a 190–101 (.653) win-loss record and a pair of NIT appearances. Following his six seasons with Nebraska, Collier moved back to Butler to take the position of Vice President and Director of Athletics. In 2006, he was inducted into the Butler Hall of Fame.
