Mike spent 35 years at Skagit Valley. During 13 of those years, he served as assistant men's soccer coach. Mike coached with Wally Sigmar for five years and Dave Ryberg for one year. He was part of six NWAACC championship teams. As a faculty member and Department Chair of Behavioral Sciences, he has been awarded Skagit Valley's Teacher of the Year. During his time at Skagit Valley, Mike was the Assessment Liaison for Skagit Valley to the State Board for 20 years. He was also the lead negotiator and instrumental in writing the first faculty agreement for coaching contracts. He was always concerned and fought for coaching salaries.
