Big Bend Community College
Class of 2012

Dr. Michael Lang served Big Bend Community College athletics from 1986 to 2008. From 1986 to 2003, Lang served as Big Bend's athletic commissioner. From 1986 to 1999, he was the college's athletic director and served on the NWAACC Executive Board from 1992-94.

In 2008, Lang co-authored with Marco Azurdia, chapter 10, Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports in Student Services in Community and Technical Colleges: A Practitioner's Guide (4th Edition)."

In addition to Lang's responsibility, he also served as the associate dean, dean, and then vice president of student services. In total he served at Big Bend 34 years.

Upon his retirement in 2010, Lang was honored by Big Bend as Vice President Emeritus. In September 2012 received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette at the official residence of the Consul General of Japan in Seattle.
