David B StoryLower Columbia College Dr. Story was named President of Lower Columbia College in 1969 and he served in that role until 1980. During that time, the leadership of Story advanced athletics on campus to new heights. The Red Devils won their first baseball title and it was Story who made sure the program and the other teams on campus would get the support needed. Dr. Story was a competitive man who saw the value in athletics in a college setting. He was also a fan, who would be seen at many LCC sporting events over the years. Before he left the college in 1980, the campus baseball stadium was named in his honor. Story Field continues to be the place where numerous NWAC championships events are held. |
