Curt Didier’s athletic career began at Connell High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. Connell took second at the first-ever Washington State 1A Football Championships in 1972, while Didier won a State Championship as a track athlete, running the hurdles as a senior.
Sought after by many schools as a football talent, Didier opted for junior college powerhouse Columbia Basin College.
Playing both tight-end and split-end, he earned All-Conference and All-American honors as a sophomore. Didier left CBC as the single-season and all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards.
Transferring to Eastern Washington in 1978, he established a new school-record with 13 touchdown receptions in a season. This record, broken in 2010, would last 32 years.
In a spectacular junior season, Didier was named team MVP while earning All-American honors.
As a senior, Curt Didier was selected to the AP Little All-Northwest Team, again earning
All-American recognition.
He still ranks among the top ten in receiving touchdowns and yards per catch in EWU history, despite playing only two seasons.
Curt Didier signed with the Oakland Raiders in 1980.
