Two-year Letterman on MHCC's football and basketball teams. In basketball, he was a member of the Saints' 1973 NWAACC championship team. In football, he was an all-NWAACC first-team selection as placekicker in 1973. Went on to the University of Oregon football team kicking for them for two seasons before being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys where he played for one season. Arrived at David Douglas High School in Portland in 1979 where he has been the head golf coach for 29 years, leading his team to the state title in 1987. Head basketball coach there for 15 years, an assistant for ten years, and also assisted in football for 12 years. As Head Boy's Basketball Coach from 1989-2004, he recorded 218 wins verses 137 losses, won two League Championships and qualified for the state tournament 11 years. He was selected League Coach-of-the-Year on five occasions. As Golf Coach from 1979 until the present, Woodfill won eight League & District Championships, qualified for the state tournament 11 times while winning the State Championship in 1987 and was selected League Golf Coach-of-the-Year eight times. Currently the Athletic Director at David Douglas HS, a position he had held since 2001.
