Fred Andrew was a two-year letterman for Everett's track team where he won the WAACC javelin title in 1965 with a throw of 203' 2 1/2" helping the Trojans to a second place finish. He finished runner-up in 1966 before transferring to Central Washington University where he placed third and fourth in two NAIA National Meets.

Andrew is the only CWU athlete to place in the NCAA National Meet, which allowed NAIA places to compete at the time, when he finished fifth in the javelin in 1968.

Andrew was a cross country and track coach at Bellvue CC between 1972-78. He has been a self-employed contractor since retiring from BCC in 1979.
